Boating, baseball, and birthdays

It was 51 degrees at 7:00 when we got out on the lake yesterday morning.  The Heaton's oldest son, Josh, is in town and Quinn really wanted some coaching in wakeboarding.  We decided to squeeze a small boating trip in between 7 am and Gavin's 11:00 baseball game......brrrrrr!

We also celebrated Gavin's 9th birthday party this week.  I have a hard time admitting to myself how old he is getting.

Cade, all bundled up on the boat.

I know I am a little bias, but isn't Gavin so stinking cute?

Gavin was able to pitch the 2nd inning of the game.  He did a really good job.

We are up to our necks in hogs this year.  Gavin gets to go hog hunting almost every night, and he shoots one almost every night.  What more could a boy ask for?

School time!

My cute school kids on their first day of school.  Emily is starting Kindergarten and Gavin is starting 3rd grade.  We are looking forward to a great school year.  It was very difficult for me to let them go, I was one sad mommy :(
We still manage to have fun on the weekends thanks to becky and Evan inviting us to the Horseshoe Bay resort.  The bird keeper let the kiddos hold all the birds and the kids LOVED every minute.

This bird's name is Hairy, because he loves to pick through peoples hair.  He seemed to really love Emily's yellow hair :)

Fitness Blog

While we were up in Idaho for 2.5 weeks recently, I was able to hang out with Whitney and Diana. We went for runs, worked out together, went shopping, and just hung out. I haven't had so much fun in a long time. It was so nice to have two really great instant friends. We completely hit it off immediately! There isn't a day that goes by that we don't talk or text with each other. We all could relate to the struggle we have had with weight loss and trying to stay active and healthy while raising children. We loved sharing ideas and I found that their stories motivated me. So we decided to start a blog to document, motivate and inspire each other while we are so far apart. We have been blogging for a couple weeks now and it has definitely done all those things for me. I'm telling you all of this so that if you would like to follow us in our journey, and our ups and downs, we would love to have you along for the ride. The blog is http://romrellfitness.blogspot.com/
ENJOY!

Let's Rodeo!

Our County fair and rodeo is going on this week and last night was the night of the youth rodeo. Emily participated in the cloverleaf barrels, and the straight-away barrels. She did a great job riding strawberry and finished both patterns perfectly.
This is our new friend Brinn, she came to watch Gavin, Emily, and Cade compete.
Cade was so cute! He rode strawberry in the cloverleaf barrels, the straight-away barrels, and he also rode a sheep. He was the youngest competitor in the rodeo. He makes me a little nervous because he has absolutely no fear and he gets Strawberry going very fast.
Gavin was able to ride Blueberry this year and she did so good, he made great runs on her in the Cloverleaf barrels, the straight-away barrels, and the poles. He placed in every single horse event, and he also rode a calf which made him the all around winner.

We had some really great friends come and support the kiddos. These are our close friends Becky and Evan who we love hanging out with.

Paige and Brinn, beautiful girls!

We have this great new family move in, and they came to help cheer the kids on.
These are a few videos of the kid's runs. In the second video, watch closely at chute number 4, that is the chute Cade will be coming out of.

Family, friends, & fun!

We were able to drive up to Idaho and visit Quinn's family for the past 2 and 1/2 weeks. It was a very long drive, but worth every minute to get to see all of our friends and family in Idaho. We went up at a great time because there was lots of things going on and all of the family was in town.

We got to spend lots of time with Aunt Tess and Liberty. We even went up to her house in Wyoming, very pretty!
The cutest twins in the world!
Grandpa with Em.

We were able to stay for Quinn's cousin's wedding, I was lucky enough to get to do her bridal pictures. These were some of my favorites.

Grandma and Grandpa Bateman.
Gene and Derek took us riding up Raymond canyon one day. I have never been on a more beautiful ride. We rode up and down some pretty steep mountains, so that was definitely a first for me. Haaaaawwwww!

Thanks so much for taking us up the canyon Gene and Derek!
We went up to the ranch looking for badgers almost everyday. I have never seen a badger before in my life, they are much bigger then what I expected. Deloy and Jake hit these two from pretty far off.
Shooting the AR, woooo whooo!

Diana with sweet, beautiful Brielle or Elle, and Whitney with one of her cutie patootie twins Treydon. I love these girls!!!!
I was able to take some individual pictures of my kiddos, here is one of miss Em.
We Just love Uncle Jake! We didn't get to see a whole lot of him while we were up. He works for the forest service and when he wasn't chasing fires, he was chasing girls.
The day after we arrived in Idaho, Quinn's great grandmother was celebrating turning 100 years old. She is such an amazing woman and we are so glad we got to celebrate her birthday with her. What an accomplishment!
Most of the grandkids. Cade, Emily, Diesel, and Liberty.
Cade had a hay-day with all the new toys to play with. The weather was so nice that we wanted to spend as much time as we could outside.
I took lots and lots of pictures. These were some we took of Mary Lin and DeLoy up at a very old cabin on the old dry farming fields. I think they called it poverty flats because a bunch of potato farmers went bust up there.
